I WANNA BE C.E.O OF MY COMPANY: C.E.O's Secretary -PART FOUR

No doubt you had enjoyed the previous parts of my blog. I want to believe that you have been able to set up your own company from the scratch. Oh that is great, and it's also showing that you are actually serious about becoming the C.E.O of your own company.

Wait oooo I just forgot that I promised to bring to you the additional information required to make your own business more professional, legal and recognized. Then what is the secret of doing so? BUSINESS REGISTRATION!
In fact, it is by the virtue of registering of registering your company that more, I mean better opportunities become opened to you and YOUR COMPANY. Such opportunities include: using your (Registered) company name to execute contracts with Governments- if you are fortunate and move with right cliques anyway, Getting Bank Loans and the likes. Let me just walk you through the stages involved in registering your company even with as little as N12,500 without paying laywers with the exception of paying little stipend (EGUNJE) to one of those jobless people wandering court premises where you will just need to swear oath figuratively. For detailed information (after all they did not pay me for rendering them this service) abeg, make una check their website jor or follow their link http://www.cacnigeria.org.

On their website you are possibly going to see a checklist of their accredited offices called Cooperate Affairs Commission (C.A.C). So the first thing is to locate their branch ***THEY NOW HAVE BRANCH IN OSUN STATE AT OSOGBO because those guys are still primitive and they may not have updated their website yet.

Once you have located their branch just go there and apply for a form they call NAME SEARCH which you will pick for I guess N500 or N800 after which you are supposed to fill the form and have it submitted on that day then you will be told that you should drop your contact with them for them to inform you when to come back for the result of the test/ search conducted. This is done to prevent using other people's company or business name. This also means that if your unregistered company is bearing a name and another company taught that it will be better they adopt that name, then have it registered before the original owner of the company name, then the original owner that was "sleeping" before has lost the proprietary right of that name and then cannot sue the other company of "stealing" its name.

Finally you receive a message that "your name search is successful that you can then come for the result" This usually takes about 5 working days. This then makes you proceed to the next stage

Stage Two

Here, when you are going back to their office, you will need to go with the following items:

  1. 2 passport photographs
  2. N12,000 if it were to be a business name, otherwise, more expensive if it is limited or bla bla bla
  3. Your means of identification
  4. If it is a business that involves professions like setting up a clinic, like my company that I registered, you need to provide evidence of the fact that you are qualified to practice the profession with your credentials or certificate to back it up, or else they will send you away ooo.

I guess this is with a view to preventing quackery in such professions.

When you had provided them with those details, coupled with some other documentations in their office, they will inform you to check back some 5 days after the submission period to get your Certificate of registration and your registration number. CONGRATULATIONS!!! YOUR BUSINESS IS SETUP.

STEP THREE

Walk into any of your favorite banks, with well-arranged dress preferably with black suit and nice tie. Ask for the Branch Manager and let them know that you want to open a cooperate account with them for your company.

I WANNA BE C.E.O OF MY OWN COMPANY PART THREE

PART THREE

Sincerely I want to start by apologizing for being unable to bring this part three of the secret of being a C.E.O of your company yesterday as promised. This is however due to some activities that i engaged myself with yesterday. Any inconveniences caused deeply regretted.

Most of the questions that were asked yesterday were replied earlier today, with the exception of the one I received less than an hour ago; this I will just answer together with this part three so that others can benefit from it.

Question from Mr A.D

"SIr, thank you for your tutorial so far, however you said "...overnight success will not happen " what about those online businesses that promise immediate revenue once you pay some certain amount into their bank accounts"

Answer to Mr. A.D question

Dear Mr A.D I quite appreciate your honest and sincere compliment, however in connection with the question, while I will not say what they are saying is untruth, but in reality from my little experience I have gathered so far with online businesses, the chances are very slim. Nonetheless I need to inform you that if you want to do online business, YOU MUST SELL SOMETHING. While this blog is not solely for online business, the principles therein can be applied for both offline and online businesses.

That will be all that I can take about the questions for today. Let us move to our main lesson for today.

So far we have talked about three steps namely: having the idea of what you want to do, then planning and finally, strategizing how the plans can be EXECUTED. That is the point; execution which is the next and most important step involved in setting up a business

Step 4: Execution: Execute without delay

The enemy of anyone that is trying to be a successful entrepreneur is procrastination. There are many ideas that I had in the past that I just allowed it lingered till I saw it executed by others especially people that I discussed the idea with. Then I started to say "he stole my idea" whereas I was not man enough to execute them. Again this is what separates the men from the boys 'as in' the ladies from the little girls.

You have to get up out of your chair; or crawl off the sofa; or jump up from the bench, and get into the game.

“The critical ingredient is getting off your butt and doing something. It’s as simple as that. A lot of people have ideas — but there are few who decide to do something about them now. Not tomorrow. Not next week. But today. The true entrepreneur is a doer — not a dreamer.”

- Nolan Bushnell, founder of Atari and Chuck E. Cheese’s.

The bottom line? You can forget a forever burly company if you can’t implement the strategies you’ve outlined above.

Sorry to say; all your beautiful ideas don't matter: to the contrary, making them a reality is the paramount and you can make them happen.

A person that have an idea, plan and strategize but fail to execute is like a student who had sleepless nights preparing for an exams and then when the exams comes, decided to sleep and fails to write out the answers to the questions simply because he believes he still has a lot of hours ahead of him to finish the paper. HOW SAD HE WILL BE WHEN HE FINDS OUT HIS FRIENDS THAT HE TAUGHT BEFORE EXAMS PASSED THE PAPER AND HE DID NOT.

The cool thing though? Once you have gone through the first 3 steps, execution is easier because you know what important tactics you must work on.

Again, avoid trying to do too many things at once but try to understand thinks you need to be working on at a time. You know — the high-value stuff? The daily tasks — as outlined in your strategy — which really bring you closer to your vision.

If you have clarity on your vision and purpose, and fully understand where you are now (assessment), and go through the strategic thinking process on how to best reach your vision, then you’ll know what steps to execute.

And always remember this:

Execution of a grand vision and purpose comes in taking the little steps.

Cast your mind back to Part Three where I used the illustration of someone travelling from Maiduguri down to lagos. Now imagine that the person is actually going to settle down at his hometown in Ikirun, evidently there is no straight bus from Maiduguri to Ikirun. This means that the person will take another bus down to Ikirun. What if the person is stiff-necked searching straight bus from Maiduguri to Ikirun, what will happen? You and I know the completion of the story.

Hence you don’t just land on the moon just because you want to have an accomplished vision. Learn from JFK and NASA. It took them 10 years to get it done — after the vision. Successful execution comes by completing the small, connected steps along the way -Algorithms . Am I making sense at all?

So there you have it. Four incredibly simple, but far from easy, steps you can take to build a forever strong company from scratch.

Each step is critical, and each step works best when done in order. And the good news? You can start this today, I mean tonight. Doesn’t matter where you are as an entrepreneur. Even if your company is several years old, you can still go through this process. Just review your plans, re-strategize to accomplish your visions then execute them bit-by-bit.

By now I know you are planning to execute your strategized plan, but then there are still some additional information you will need while setting up a business. This makes yours more professional. Hence I will reveal to you in detail what this involves FREE OF CHARGE in my next issue of C.E.O of my business.

WATCH OUT!!!

I WANNA BE C.E.O OF MY COMPANY -PART TWO

Don't worry we are getting there!

For those who have been sending me messages on my facebook account since morning requesting for part two of this blog sorry for the delay, it was a girl friend of mine sorry I meant my colleague at my place of work that entered one chance yesterday after taking alcoholic beverage she had never taken before making both of us to have a sleepless night yesterday eventually making us rather I to sleep like a log of wood earlier this morning otherwise I would have posted the part two since morning.

Also for those asking for my personal contact line, I am so sorry I will not want to release it for some personal reasons, may be I might release it later sha ooo but if you still have any question or comment feel free to leave your email address with us or you can still send messages to my email address
ptkabworld@gmail.com.

Where did we stop yesterday? we established that we need to plan yesterday right? okay let us continue with:
STEP TWO: PLAN
All business begins from the planning phase before proceeding to the startup phase. When starting a business, you can never bypass the planning phase to the startup phase. My most respected mentor “Robert Kiyosaki” has this to say with respect to building a successful business overnight.

“Most people say the Rich Dad Company is an overnight success and I admit, we are an overnight success but it took us 10 years to get there.” – Robert Kiyosaki

I said earlier that I am a physiotherapist and becoming one is a process that comes with a lot of study and hard work; same goes with building a business, it’s a process. I don’t know how best to stress this point but what I want you to carry along is this: overnight success will not happen; I have gotten firsthand experience of it. Desert the “get rich quick” or “overnight success” scheme and you will save yourself a lot of heartache and migraine. HaHaHa. But that is just the truth. Notice what Tony Martins says: “I started and built a business from scratch. One thing I love about the entrepreneurial process is this; no matter my level of fame and success today, the thought of my early days in life, when I had nothing; will always keep me humble.”

It took Aliko Dangote approximately 30 years to become a billionaire and richest black man in the world. It took John D. Rockefeller 25 years of oil drilling and distribution to become a billionaire. The list is endless, It took approximately 10 years for Bill Gates, Larry Page, Sergey Brin, Jerry Yang and David Filo to become billionaires. Again if it takes Mark Zuckerberg to become the youngest billionaire in the world less than five years then it is not impossible to take you less than one year to be Trillionaire (if such word exists anyway)of our time. So the baseline is PLAN.

Before going into any business, of course I know you will prepare and plan for the best; however do you prepare for the worst too, by putting a contingency plan in place. A contingency plan is always a landing refuge in case you are eventually hit by the worst. It’s the sole reason why I still have the audacity to start new businesses even after I had previous business failures.
Most hunters go hunting poorly equipped, praying they don’t come across very dangerous animals like lion, tiger and the likes . However, an experienced hunter go hunting with the expectation of being confronted by a lion. So which hunter would you desire to be? The business world is just like a forest, you can never know what is ahead of you so it is best you are prepared. infact an adage that I refer to as 5Ps says "proper preparation prevents poor performance"- Anonymous

“In the business world, the rear view is always clearer than the wind shield.” – Warren Buffett.
So planning will include assessment of the resources available to you. Resources like people, money, connections and know-how. Figure out what you have and what you don’t have access to. Again who will be your targeted audience or market, will there be competitors which I bet you they will number thousands (don't be scared was just kidding), and any other outside influence that will affect your ability to reach your vision. All this adds up to a whole bunch of research, engagement and learning.

Let us leave this issue of plan for now and move on to next important step.

STEP THREE: Strategic Thinking and Value Innovation.

It may sound like the second stage but there is a clear cut difference between them...anyway this is not an English class if you are interested in knowing more just go to school (Olamide will say "go to school, lo ka iwe die si")
Back to strategic thinking, it is a big English right?

Don’t fret, ‘cause it’s really not. However, it is important. But simple too. Learn from these useless antivirus makers (I hope none of them is reading my blog now), they will write codes that will be seen by your computer as a threat, they will still be the one that will write the "anti-codes" for such programs- only to sell their stuffs. Don't get me wrong I am not saying you should be packing mosquitoes into people's apartments and again now selling antimalarial drugs to them ooo. All I am saying is identify societal problems then think on how to proffer solutions to them BUT IN A UNIQUE WAY.

Basically, think big picture — where creativity, insight and wisdom play a huge role.

The cool thing here is you already know where you want to go (Step 1), and you’ve figured out where you are (Step 2). Now you just need to build some ways (strategy) to get from A to B.

You know, like if you’re in Maiduguri and you just escaped being BO***D (where you are now). And your vision is to escape to Lagos (where you want to go) so you can run for your life remembering that you still have the dream of being our next Trillionaire (why you want to go there). Well, from Maiduguri you can trek, take a bike, tricycle, Korope, bus, car or plane to get to Lagos (strategies for getting there). You just need to weigh the options and figure out the best strategy for you.

Now, creating strategy and value innovation for your business is a whole book unto itself. There are many types of process and methodologies behind strategic thinking and planning and I can keep writing the whole Wikipedia of information about it. But in essence, it comes down to this:

You know where you are; you know where you want to go; you now just have to list all the ways to get from point A to point B. Once you’ve done this, you then need to narrow it down to which way (or ways) give you the best option of getting to your destination. Shikena
What’s next? Perhaps the most thorny and time consuming of them all…
Haba, let me rest here till tomorrow when we shall be discussing the fourth process involved for you to be C.E.O of your dream business.
Remember, this information is FREE of charge because I know WE Nijas like AWUFF so enjoy it for free!!!! I WANNA BE A C.E.O OF MY COMPANY- PART ONE

DON'T WORRY EVERYTHING WILL BE ALRIGHT!!
What you are about to read will empower you to take that first dramatic step toward starting your own business and doing it right the first time.
If you are reading this blog now then, you consider yourself a FORTUNATE FEW! Why do I say so? Maybe you will think that I am a prophet after considering the points listed below.
have you been dreaming of these
  1. I want to be my own boss
  2. I want to go into a business I enjoy - actually it's a hobby that I want to do full time
  3. I want to work when I want to work
  4. I want to work from home or I want to choose where to work from
  5. I need to earn more money
  6. I am currently unemployed and nobody is willing to employ me
  7. I think I can do things better than my current boss.
No doubt are currently thinking about any if not all of the above listed points. You are not alone everybody wants to have MORE money. I will show you from this blog how you can turn your fantasy into a reality. MAKE SURE YOU FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS SYSTEMATICALLY AS ENUMERATED.
Sorry I did not introduce myself, pardon me for my lack of manner. I am Oladejo Korede (PT., MNSP), University of Ibadan trained physiotherapist who however loves many other things other than physiotherapy though I still practise my profession anyway. I am well known for organising seminars on data analysis for undergraduates in different institutions. I have many websites online for...that will be a talk for another day. I just remember it's another issue we are trying to sort out with this blog.

Back to business. Do you have an idea of any business in mind first? Is there anything special that you have flair for? Just kidding you will have something special about yourself. I am currently listening to Olamide song while writing this blog though I cannot even remember its title but one thing I noticed about him is that he is very real. So be REAL! Now you know what is special about you then let us move to the first step.

FIRST STEP

What am I saying self, that is the first step- have an idea of the business you want to setup at the back of your mind. Let us move to the second step.

Do you really want to waste your time and money - of course not when am not AKPOS you will say! LOLZ! So do it right and write a business plan. I hope my blog is not becoming boring if it is then consider “You can always quit so why quit now.” – Rich Dad. So just exercise patience till we get you kick start your business from the scratch.
